Welcome to my website! I hope you enjoy it! I am 20 years old and enjoy playing sports and watching football. I am from Jacksonville, Florida and I am a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority of the Alpha Nu Chapter here at College of Charleston. I love to talk so therefore I am a Communications Major here at the College and I am obsessed with the Georgia Football. GO DAWGS! I loved taking this class and below you will see the descriptions of all of the projects I did...But if you'd like a more in depth look into my life click the About Me tab. To find my favorite websites on graphic design click on a picture of me to be sent to a website. I thought this was a creative way to make my website different from all the others. ENJOY!

Project 1   ♦

I chose this design and shape for the logo Creative Concepts because I wanted something different and edgy. I used curves and edges that really expressed the creativity of the logo. By creating this formal brand this company will now be able to use this on everything that the public sees. Although I used edges and fun curves I still wanted something that was clean and crisp therefore being easy to read no matter where it was posted. I overlapped the Cs to represent the idea that creative and concepts were always going to be linked. I also tilted both of the Cs because I thought that it gave the logo style and made it easier to read with the font that I chose to spell out the rest of the name. The color blue I chose is young, fun and stands out especially on a white business card, letterhead and envelope. I wanted it to look like a sketch of some sort that a artist would just be doodling on a canvas. For the text part of the logo I chose a font that was cursive and spread it out so it stood out more. My information for the logo I used different fonts that were easy to read so that the contact information was not hard to find. Even though the logo is funky and a graphic design I wanted the contact information to be clear yet still fun. I used black for the font color of the text because I did not want too much color to distract away from the logo. This was my first logo design and I hope to improve over time as I create more logos for different types of companies. This logo should be recognizable wherever it is seen and I hope that all the logos I create will do the same. The double Cs without the rest of the word should be able to represent creative concepts. Because many logos usually just have a picture or the beginning letter of the text to represent their logo and hopefully I accomplished that task.

Project 2   ♦

For this assignment we were asked to make four calendars for the Humane Society. I decided to have a large picture take up the whole width of the layout because I wanted it to be the first thing people saw when they looked at each month. I chose distinct colors for each month to represent the season they belong to. All four of my layouts are landscape and are the perfect size of a calendar. I put all of the coupons to the right of the actual calendar and gave them a cutout boarder so it appears that you can actually cut them out from the calendar. For all of the names of the month I used white text and a black stroke so that it would stand out against any image of the animals that I used. It was difficult to find pictures that were able to fit into that slender box that I created but I stretched them out to fit the page. The boarder of all the calendars is a dashed line to make sure that the flows of all the calendars look very similar. The fun facts I also put in the right corner of the layout because I thought it would be easy to find while trying to write things on the calendar. Overall I thought that the calendars I produced for the Humane Society were well executed and truly represent the image that this organization was trying to portray.

Project 3   ♦

For this advertisement I chose to do a very clean representation of the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach, CA. The visual element that I used for this advertisement was the beach scene of the actual Laguna Beach in California. I also used the colors from the Sawdust Festival website to compliment the color scheme that they were trying to recreate. By using those colors, the people who see the flyers will be able to more easily recognize that the flyer goes with the Sawdust Festival. The name of the festival is in the center of the advertisement and I outlined it in yellow so that it would stand out and make a statement. Also, the first part of the advertisement that is the most eye-catching is the curvy slogan; which I chose a red color for. I chose to make the text darker by using a black stroke on all of the words so therefore it would be much easier to read for the people viewing the advertisement. I used blending to show the picture of Laguna Beach and made sure it did not overpower the advertisement. For the phrase Sawdust I spaced the text out across the advertisement so that it would fit the frame of the ad. By using color scheme and flow of the text I think my advertisement portrayed the image that the members of the Sawdust Festival were trying to get across to the public.
